Evening all.
There has been a bit of progress with Thrax, I hope you all enjoy.
A little bit more obvious who he is now.
The Heraldry is a little rough for my tastes, but I will clean it up when I get my next opportunity.
I see him as more of a War Hound than a brother of the XIIth legion.
But he is getting there, as are his brothers!

Good afternoon brothers, sisters, people who play Eldar and all those in between.
Today I am once again jumping on the glorious addiction that is the hobby bandwagon and have teamed up with a buddy to start a new Deathwatch force.
I intend for each of my fellas to tell a little story, for each of them to show that they all bring something unique to both their squads and the entire team.

I've been humming that riff as I finished the space captain sculpt.
I'm happy with the results. He isn't the most dynamic model but he does have the right stern, commanding feel.
Out of nowhere in the last week I've also been working on another chaos cultist chosen.
I couldn't not sculpt some of it, could I?

He is done bar baking and eyes. I think that he may be too simple, that there isn't enough detail to make for a interesting miniature. I suspect with a good paint job that would change, but it's a lesson for the future. And I've started on the next one too. At this point I'm thinking it will be an arrogant rogue trader. Yesterday, after a week is slow work defining and sharpening details, I did the first bake. Half-an-hour at 110 C and it was all done. I'll try to do a more comprehensive rundown early in the week once I can get back to my regular computer. Arms and vest just about done. Needs more tidying before moving onto the head and hands. Debating baking it before moving onto those. You'll have all guessed what it is by now. I just hope that I'm doing the original Jes sketches justice. I’m going to sculpt more. I’ve done some over the years but never enough to feel like I know what I’m doing. It is difficult and far less relaxing than painting. Typically I make one whole models before giving up and going back to smearing pigment on plastic. This time I’m going to try to build up a head of steam and get a few models done. The plan is to document my progress here stage-by-stage.Drone 21Chttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01023802662948240299noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4368637023136114951.post-91323406136319691292015-10-20T13:42:00.001+11:002015-10-20T13:42:12.962+11:00BloodsecratorThis is a great model and I enjoyed painting it. The biggest problem I've had with this one is the skin. I've gone for a pale translucent look with a glaze of 2:3 Rhinoxhide:blue and then some ogryn flesh to give it a living blush and some depth. I’m enjoying the Age Of Sigmar. It’s been a breath of fresh air for our group, and, like my chaos Dwarfs, it’s seen many old projects come out from the cupboards of hobby shame and onto the battlefield. We’ve all been talking about new projects and the wild possibilities of the new system (An army of Giants? Why not? Empire pegasus knights? Sure! Chaos undead? Yes, please!)

Damn pleased how these turned out. Sadly, they are very hard to get a good picture of. The purple in the shades really makes the armour pop.
