This is almost done. I just need to do two flashy free hand banners and ad some more colour to some of the other weapons. I've magnetised the arms and carapace guns so there are a few to get through. It took me a while to work out the weapons needed something to lift them. It has sat on my desk giving me dirty looks for weeks. The chagrin of a god-machine is nothing to be ignored.
The last couple of weeks I've been doing some serious competition quality painting for the first time in years. This is an Infinity line kazak. Yes, it is a "girly" model and yes, I am a little embarissed by it but she has been fun to paint. It was nice to work on some different skin tones -- using purple as a shade -- and to push the highlights further than I have in the past to make them pop. Not sure I've been all that successful.
It's good she has her hat on, but otherwise a little under-dressed for the snow!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the house hunting.
She is underdressed! I felt sorry for her the whole time I was working on her.
DeleteAny chance you could share your method for such precise checks(on the titans fist) as they look great.
ReplyDeleteNot really any tricks for the cheques, sorry. I started with a base coat of yellow over the whole fist and with my finest brush painted a grid on it with very thin black. Then went back and filled in the grid to make the pattern. Painting the dark over the lighter colour creates a bit of a visual illusion that makes both black and yellow squares seem the same size (that's a tip i picked up in WD years and years ago. It may have been in a Mike McVey article!) Hope this helps!
