I'm not bald, I'm a hybrid.

I knew it would happen, I got sucked in by the new fancy release and now I have started ANOTHER army.

Though I have done myself a tiny favour and have give myself a whole 8 months to get this baby sorted.

So here are a few WIPs and there are plenty more coming.

First up are my 1st squad veterans, these cheerful lads are the epitome of genetic perfection, their leader on the other hand(s) earned his position by killing all who stood in his way, I can only assume it was messy.

Next up, a platoon command squad, the beginnings of one at least, though every time i get it up to the full numbers, I decide that one of the members would be better in another squad, or on the back of a vehicle.
I guess I just have to keep making hybrids!
Guest appearances by the command elements of the Overkill box with a CCS veteran, the unarmed (yeah, pun intended) veteran sergeant and a commissar who must have a head wound, I cannot imagine why he's shooting in the other direction.

Last but not least, A fella I'm calling The Agreeva.
A mech improved, tech infused weapon of mass punishment, in game he's gonna be run as a Commissar.

Now, just because I have spent the last few hours smoothing out the ass of this next one, I am really excited to show him off.
ROBOSTEALER!

That's it from me for the night.
I have a need to build the cult, almost as if there's a voice telling me to reinforce....

More Yaktribe goodness and a red mechanic

A little more work on my Yaktribe entry this week, mainly on Little Smiley the Ogryn and Mr Verkehr of the South Sump Syndicate.

When last you saw these two, they werent accompanied by the gentleman with the rather long rifle, but they had something much like this lack of all things resonably pigment related.

Little Smiley then got a bit of a going over in the basecoat department, his colours were quite limited and rather plain, showing his lowly station and simple nature.

Soon enough he got a snazzy hair color and some shading to his clothing, this stage was my favorite.

Here, i think I made a mistake. I personally think I took him too dark. Not 100% sure, but I may strip him and start again.

Next up is Verkehr. Hes a really plan and unassuming looking bloke, his uniform was really simple and I just wanted something easy to recognise in the masses of the underhive.

The "S" in the cog will be the symbol for the Syndicate.

Started washing him here, he looks a lilittle better with some definition in the face I think.
And here he is a bit later on, chilling with my new and improved Skitarii maniple leader Metalus Octus.

There is still a lot of detailing to do on them all, but I think it's a good start so far.

Also, here is another shot of that fellow from earlier with the rather long rifle. and a friend for him.

These will be the final 2 for the protective detail, unless I have a heap of time left before the end of the month and can add some more to the group. He is a FW renegade guardsman torso, some guard bits and a rifle from the beautiful new Skitarii kit. If you don't have at least one box of these yet, GET ONE RIGHT NOW!!!!! There are so many cool bits and pieces in that kit, the heads alone are worth their weight in precious, precious Unobtainium.

So, there's lots more to do, but it's coming along.
THere are already a bunch of awesome entries showing up, so if you haven't checked Yaktribe out yet, GET ON IT!!!

Until next time, keep on keepin on.

YAKTRIBE COMPETITION 7 "HOUSE OF CARDS"

If you haven't ever seen Yaktribe, you're missing out on what I think is the most comprehensive Necromunda resource on the entirety of the world wide webs. It's a great community with a constant stream of new resources and plenty of juicy new minis and project logs.

So I finally decided to get off my butt and enter one of these competitions i am always seeing and the entry requirements are as follows.

Build a group with at least two members of a Noble House, Brats, Servants or a Lord for Necromunda... A Made Ork, who earned his place on the hulk for Gorkamorka... or an equivalent for Mordheim - Mayor, Knight!

Plainly speaking people from The Spire or Royalty, members of a Noble House - a Lord or Lady and his / her servant or counselor. An aristocratic Hunting Party, a Trader and his retinue, something like that. Someone powerful. Something we normally don't see in our games (apart from NPCs) but wish our leaders might become.
Traders and Guilders with their retinue are also great examples.

So I decided that a cool idea is a Necromunda style bike messenger, without the bike.
Now the underhive is a pretty rough place, you know, with the constant risk of being shot in the face, so I think he might need some muscle.

I present to you, the beginnings of my underhive delivery company, The South Sump Syndicate.

The End Times. A WoC log.

Greetings all.

With the apparent end of The Old world fast approaching, my mind has happily flung my attentions back to the glory that is "The Beautiful Game" and has had me finally stop flirting with my true love.

Chaos.

So my original plan was to do something I had never really done before, a chaos army that stays away from the super fun that is small squads of elite troops, taken from every god and do a mono Khorne army.... That lasted about 34 seconds into my seeing the new BlightKings and as I am going on holiday to the wonderful U.S of A in a few weeks, you can bet I'll be coming home with a bag full of those! Seeing as they're damn near half price compared to what we pay here in Australia!

So here is the start of my Khorne contingent. My main block of warriors/Chosen.

I'm a massive fan of the mixed weapons and gear with chaos armies, I mean who in their right mind is going to tell an eight foot tall, three foot wide armor plated killing machine that his unit is supposed to have a sword and shield and he has to leave that ten foot pike at home? Not me! Plus, I feel that depending on how I want to equip them, I simply fill the front rank with the mini with the required equipment. EASY!

The idea behind this unit, is that they are champions who have fallen in battle against the enemies of Khorne, he claimed their souls, unleashing them upon his enemies when his champions needed the aid of the best he had. I plan on getting the B-E-A-UTIFUL Valkia model to kick some butt with these guys, but I'm not allowing myself to get her before I have painted these blokes.

Speaking of painting, here is a quick picture of how my color scheme and bases will look on these.

I want them to be marching towards battle down a cobblestoned road, could be in The Empire, could be outside Hag Graef, could be anywhere! (Though since a mate of mine has started Dark elves, methinks a few of their corpses on some of the larger models could point to where they really are.

Well that's enough for me for now. I will keep y'all posted on my progress.

And in theme with today's post....

The Devout & The Alien

So three new members of Klein's retinue.

Father Artemis Sline: Klein's personal confessor. He is know to exploit his position to indulge in the pleasures of the flesh and has a particular love of seafood from Oblast. He carries The Myriad Syns in which Klein records the crimes of those who appose him.

Redeemer Ryzhko: Once high-ranking Necromundian Redemptionist cultist but gave up his position to take his crusade against all things unholy to the stars. He take particular pleasure in the use of flame to "teach".

The Sanctioned Ur-Cephalopod from the Tarkine Expanse: How or why this alien was recruited/ coerced/ trained is a mystery. It is know to be an extremely powerful telekine at short ranges. Note the Inquisitional seal nailed to its shell and the seal affixing the Sanctioned Xenos Import papers authorised on Holy Terra itself.

I think I may have said that I'd be a while retuning to Inq28 stuff. Clearly you can't trust a thing I say.

The two devout are nice simple conversions that took no time and were just fun to do. The Ur-Cephalopod was fairly simple too (I just had to make the tenticles -- the pod is a sea urchin shell I got on a seaside holiday) With it I wanted to make something really alien and weird to show Klein's radical nature and something that you wouldn't seen in a 40k army.

We've also had out first game of Inq28. I GM'd a tussle between Sir K (played by Cadaver Junkie) and Commissar Skulthorpe (played by Mike T) and two cultists (played by Servitor 775). It was great to roll some D10s again and better to see that everybody had fun. There are plans for more games in the new year.

This was the short after battle report that circulated to the rest of the Beneath The Mire crew:
Klein is not happy and has vowed never to send boys to to men's work again after Skulthorpe and Sir K failed to uncover any useful information from two cultists. All that is know is that they are called the Fabled Sun (or Son) and are recruiting workers in cells. By the time Klein returned to the location where the cultists were captured any physical evidence of their plans or affiliation was gone.

Terrain. Now with minis!

Evening y'all.

A bit more action on the hobby front at the moment, with A WARBAND ALMOST DONE!!

THere is a bunch of work to do on the greenstuff, nut im pretty happy with the way these guys (and girl and thing) are coming along.

The following are my WIP warband, Name Unknown. I know, it's a rather original title!

There are a pair of inquisitors, In my mind theyre a couple of sorts. The gentleman being an Ordos Hereticus type and his lovely partner being a rather cold Ordos Xenos gal with an unhealthy attatchment to the Dark Eldar.
